Football officials are of a unique group of people!

The game is played by incredible athletes at a very fast tempo in an intimidating environment. As if the sidelines full of coaches giving you grief wasn’t enough, there can be 100,000 fans that hate your guts, too.

It takes a committed individual to go into the arena week in and week out knowing what you’re going to have to deal with. There’s the abuse from coaches and fans, difficult travel situations, severe weather (heat, rain, cold) and being on an island by yourself. With the right attitude, it can be one of the greatest experiences an individual can have!

Chapters:

First Quarter: Walk the Line

I've met so many great people over the years. Not only did I learn from them, some became great friends.

Second Quarter: Family and Football

The journey would not have been complete without my family and many friends being an important part of the trip.

Halftime: Photo Gallery

Images that represent so many great memories.

Third Quarter: Saturdays in the South

From memorable games and coaches to unusual travel conditions, every Saturday was a unique experience.

Fourth Quarter: Partners in Game Time

An officiating crew is a band of brothers. You depend on each other in so many ways. You become a part of each others lives.

"Get there a little bit early and don't be in a hurry to leave!"

The best officiating advice I ever received. Thanks Dad!
